The Tokyo Game Show 2018 took place this weekend, and Capcom took the opportunity to showcase more of Devil May Cry 5. A short demo gave us a taste of what the game has to offer, such as shooting, sword fighting and microtransactions.
During its breakthrough, a representative of Gamespot discovered a shop called Divinity Statue, where you can use earned orbs to upgrade your character. Orbs are gathered through game and exploration in the game, but you can also buy them at any time for real money.
Giving players the freedom of choice
On questions about microtransactions in Devil May Cry 5, game manager Hideaki Itsuno told me that the opportunity is there to give players greater freedom of choice.
– If they want to save time and just buy everything right away, they can do it. On the other hand, I do not realize that one needs to acquire all the properties. You should be able to play just the way you want, “said Itsuno.
According to the game manager, skills one can unlock vary in strength and price. Players who do not want to open their wallet can either buy more of the easier skills, or save up to buy some of the game’s most powerful attacks.
How it all works, we’ll see March 8, when Devil May Cry 5 comes to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Meanwhile, impatient fans can see the latest trailer for the game, which was also unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show.
